Wedding time……

Man, this past Thursday I went to my cousins wedding. That would be him in the picture below this input. I haven’t seen Brett & Laurie in years and it was so much fun. I was lucky enough to be trusted as the wedding photographer and I was nervous. I tend to get anxiety when I do a photo shoot and my mind goes blank at times. But, I must say, mission accomplished, the pictures were a success. Now as far as the party and seeing family, my ole my it was fun.

It was raining hard as I was driving to Crescent beach but I love the drive down the long road of 206! It just brings back memories of being a little kid and getting to take that road for one sole purpose and that was the BEACH! Plus, seriously you can do a little speeding on that road being that it’s a 14 mile straight shot!

I get to the condo and who do I see Brett and Laurie themselves. Seeing both was a treat for me being that their plans changed a bit. Brett opens the front and I give him a hug. I head to the back of the condo to see Laurie and the 1st thing she said to me in 4 years… HI! And then Screams: OH! MY GOD YOU HAVE BOOBS!!!!!!! Well, of course I have boobs, I’m a girl. O.k. so maybe they are just a little new and improved. But, I didn’t think they were that big of a deal. I must write a mental note to myself: You can’t get anything past Cousin Laurie!

Wow, Laurie is just as fun and bubbly as she was when we were kids. We got to the wedding and didn’t have to much time to spend together. But, what little time we had was so nice. The bridesmaids were adorable and the bride was just stunning as to be expected. The Groom however?!?! WOW! The guy should be on the front of G.Q. magazine. I have to hold my head proud when people continue to look at my family and say what lookers we are. Thank the lord for some good genes, right!

The food was good and the dancing was even better. I would love to be brave enough to cut loose on a dance floor like all my brave family members. Those 7 years of dance I took didn’t make me any braver. However, I loved ever minutes of watching all those fun goof balls, jam out! The best part was the look on Laurie’s face as she was horrified to be dragged to the dance floor; it was awesome and even better the lap dance she got from the bride and groom, just priceless!

Laurie, Brett & Me

CPT testing.....

CPT testing! What do you know I am smarter than I thought! Entering this little community college I was told I had to get a 83% on my Reading, English & Math. After much reviewing, I took the nerve racking test and received a 79 in English, 74 in reading & at 65 & 23 in my math, Yikes. So with even more study I brought that English score to a 101% and that reading score to 88%, not to bad I would say. Now the Math is my issue at hand. I need for that 65 to be an 83 and I need that 23 to be a 45. Apparently the Math had and extra score I was not a wear of that would be a required 43! So I headed to good old B & N to buy the pre-algebra for dummies, LOL. I found a new version called Pre-algebra DeMYSTiFieD & algebra DeMYSTiFied. So in a matter of five day I forced myself to focus and I got through the 1st book. Yeah!!! Yesterday I started the 2nd book. I just have to think that I really, really want this, I’m a hungry woman as some would say. I get more nervous the more I seem to catch on to this Math, Why? Because I’m afriad I might be missing something. Nothing comes easy in life so I’m always looking for the trick question or problem rather. I do have to say I really thought I would be one of the last people to ever go to college. I made terrible grades in high and had no desire to learn or had the encouragement. I was basically thrown in the basement with all of the other kids that struggled as I did myself. I can’t spell well and reading a load is a struggle for me. But, I want this so bad now I am going to reach out and grab it. I have been told many of times that you can work hard and YOU CAN get what you go after in life. Well, I am a lab rat at this moment and less just say If I do accomplished this degree, which I plan to move heaven and earth to do so. Then YOU CAN too!!!!! And I don’t want to hear any excuses what so ever from anyone. My next entry will follow soon! Ciao…..

College dazes.......

Walking out on a limb is something this Mom is doing for SURE! And I’m holding my breath. A husband and 6 kids later at the age of 36, I’m going to college for the 1st time ever! I never really thought I would see the day especially being that I didn’t really desire to go to college until I got older. Now I have the bug and I see what all those other people saw in wanting to gain knowledge, experience and a pay check of more than eight bucks an hour!!! Sonography is on my mind, I always wanted to be a nurse I just wasn’t sure what kind until now! Photography/Sonography are you really surprised?

I take pictures of people, why not tummy babies, too? So how am I doing this whole school thing with 6 kids? I’m just going to make it work! Luckily five of those six kids are in school. So in the mean time I’ll keep all of my favorite people up dated with Pictures and Blogs to come. Those you who visit my blog please leave me your blog address, because I would love to visit your site too!

Puerto Rico Baby......

Derek and I went to Puerto Rico this past May and had a blast. Talk about not wanting to come home!!! I am a sucker for the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. We went diving and there I finished up my certification while my husband lay motionless on the boat deck from being seasick. He has yet to finish his certification, which is funny because everyone thought he would be the 1st to do well since I have a deep fear of water. I’m humiliated to think that I cried 2 ½ hrs during the diving class. But, with the patience of a very good instructor I got through the task at hand. Do I just LOVE diving now? Hum…I’ll have to get back to you on that one.

We circled the entire island staying in a different place each night. The finally of the week which was hard to beat to begin with was our stay at the EL Conquistador Resort.Man, Hilton miles are awesome when you finally get to redeem them. The hotel even had a small private island which we spent several hours soaking up the rays. Then my friend Nancy and I were off to the spa for Massages. The next day we were in the Puerto Rico airport when Derek found out that he and 16 of his team mates were laid off from HP! And to think when planning the trip, Derek wanted to wait and extra week. Now that would have really sucked more than it already did. But, all and all it was the BEST trip of my life!
